The Myth of “Social Status”

I came across this recording from Rion Freeberg: relm51sample And if you haven’t already, you need to get over to his website and forum:  www.self-awakening.com  There are a lot of amazing things going on over there that’ll blow open your perceptions. What he said parallels the reality I’ve been discovering, which is that the whole concept of “social status” is nothing but an invention.  It is a story we tell ourselves without any real truth behind it.  And it is one of the most common and insidious ways we limit ourselves and our enjoyment of life, and that’s as true for me as it is for anyone else. Society has created this concept of “social status,” this idea that people are at certain “levels” of social status.  Certain people are “cool,” rock stars, actors, certain professions or behaviors, maybe the style of clothing, all these things and other things combine to create this supposed “social status.”  We put people on pedestals and afford them things, we’re afraid to talk to certain people, or we disregard others.  Basically we give away our power to this thing called “social status.”  And it’s confirmed because other people are doing the same thing, which [...]

The Lazy Fisherman

Once upon a time, there was a lazy fisherman.  Every day he would spend hours sitting on the shore, relaxing in his chair, and fish.  Since this location was abundant with fish, the fisherman would always go home with a bucket full of fish. Every day, people would see him arrive, sit down, fish lazily much of the day, and go home with his bucket of fish.  Nobody ever saw him do anything else. One day, one of the observers, who was frustrated with the laziness of this young man, approached him.  “What are you doing, sitting there every day, wasting your time and youth like this?” The young man smiled and said “I like to fish.” “Fine,” said the other man, “but you’re going about it all wrong.  There are so many fish in this area, and you are a strong, young man.  You should get yourself a net and gather hundreds of fish in the time it’s taking you to fill that bucket.  That’s what I would do.” The lazy fisherman looks lazily at the other man.  “And what would you do next?” “I would sell my fish in the market for money, make a better life for [...]

I’ve Been Addicted to Self-Improvement

For three weeks I’ve been going through a shedding process, letting go of layer after layer of bullshit and really connecting with myself in a better way.  It started before my back injury, when I got my first Thai massage in about ten years and had this realization of how I haven’t been treating myself very well.  This process has accelerated since I hurt myself.  I’m in a state of very low energy, letting go and accepting my need to heal my body, heal my spirit, face my fears and open my heart.  Now, I’m accepting my body and its limitations – that despite my exercising and diet, my core is weak.  This is true in my mind and spirit as well – I’ve experienced all these breakthroughs and learned all these ways to improve myself and find peace, but at the core there’s been a lack of appreciation for myself. I’ve been addicted to self-improvement.  My exercise regimen, my “searching,” has all been to create myself into someone I could fully accept.  My true breakthroughs around finding peace and personal power have been largely accidental – going deep into fear and despair and finding my inner truth.  Yet [...]

For Men: On Being Her Hero

Men, if you want to become better lovers, know yourselves and don’t hold back in connection. There’s nothing to learn, don’t disperse your energy with different women, hurried and hungry. Satiate yourselves in connecting with yourselves alone. Only then go ready towards a woman with total passion, in fullness within. Women see everything when you make love. We do not judge your sexual abilities, but we will be rejecting anything less than love. Consciously or not. Don’t get caught in fear of what you look like as a man. We love you. Just know who you are. That’s all it takes to be the hero, the one, the perfect man. ~ Eirini Oikonomou

Finding Deep Peace – And Awesome Sleep!

I’m writing about my awesome weekend.  What did I do that was so awesome?  I slept – a LOT!  More than I’ve slept when I’ve been healthy in YEARS!  And it felt fucking incredible! You see for about as long as I’ve been an “adult,” I’ve carried my problems with me.  I worried – a lot.  And my mind has always been thinking, going, so either my mind would keep me awake or would wake me up in the morning with all the things I “need to do.”  So over time, I’d sleep less and less, and I thought this was the normal sleep cycle as I “got older.” Now, when I had by breakthrough and found this relaxing state of inner peace, it got better.  I let a lot of things go and found higher levels of being.  My chakras became balanced and I found a deep inner confidence.  I thought I was “relaxed.” What I didn’t fully realize was how much that “chattering monkey” part of my mind was (and is) still in control.  Actually, what I didn’t realize was that I could totally let this go.  I thought this “thinking” part of my mind was doing its [...]

The “Awesomeness” Podcast is Changing My Life

I’m careful about what I promote and, aside from my book and my coaching, I don’t get a cent for anything I’m promoting.  I’m also very careful not to toot my own horn.  But this has been spectacular for me – and it’s free.  My latest podcast is a guided meditation that installs a calm, relaxed, happy, confident state that you carry with you everywhere you go.  And every time you listen to it, this state gets stronger. My podcasts are here: http://herotransformation.podbean.com/  I’ve been listening to this every day no for a little over a week.  Despite the fact the recording quality isn’t that great, I’m not too thrilled with my “hypnoic voice” and there is background noise in the recording,  it’s having an incredible effect.  And others don’t really notice these things as much because it’s my recording, so there’s a part of me in edit mode that wouldn’t be the case for you listening.  So despite the imperfections, and that I know what’s coming, it’s having a surprising effect. My state is getting lighter, more relaxed, more peaceful.  I’m looking at things differently and finding myself challenging parts of my life that aren’t bringing me enjoyment.  It’s [...]

New Podcast: Installing “Feeling Confident and Awesome”

My latest podcasting episode is special:  http://herotransformation.podbean.com/2012/01/28/podcast-4-feeling-awesome/ Let’s cut to the chase.  You can spend years finding bliss or you can start living it now.  This podcast, which frankly I’m insane for giving away for free, installs the base state of relaxation and bliss – premanently, naturally.  A state you can have forever – relaxation, confidence, sexiness, magnetic attraction – feel it now in this guided meditation.  Every time you listen to this, and every time you meditate on this meditation, the state is installed stronger and more powerfully, naturally cleaning out things that get between you and the state of relaxed happiness you deserve.  In a matter of weeks, or even days or hours, you can be living in this state of relaxation and radiance, living as an entirely new you. Yes, it is that easy.  And free for now.  So take advantage and start living the life you deserve.

Let’s All Be Thai!

I found this wonderful little article on Thai phrases: http://www.thingsasian.com/stories-photos/2489 Lately I’ve been having these vivid dreams and fantasies about letting go of everything, moving to Thailand and becoming a part of this wonderful country and culture.  I thought these were escapism fantasies, but now I realize this is my heart talking. Look at the phrases – all about letting go, relaxing, taking it easy, no problem, love and enjoying life.  And notice how Westerners are referred to as “crazy.” And what am I doing?  What’s all this effort I’m pouring into this work for?  It’s so I can help lead you into this wonderful, relaxed state of being, full of love and appreciation, and loving life.  Getting rid of all that inner craziness and embracing what’s really important in life. So, fuck yah, I want to leave all this bullshit and be really happy – and I want that for you, too.

Brent Smith on “Making Your Story Come True”

This is a great video where Brent Smith talks about how to go about changing your identity. I can tell you from personal experience everything he is saying here is 100% true because… I’ve done it. And I’ve helped others do it. Check out his video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJTP9_iJalQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Porn Revisited – On Porn, Sex, and the Evolving Man

I love interesting comments from readers, like the one from Nathan, aka “The Love Shop Man” at (http://stiffcompetition.wordpress.com). I consider myself a “sex-positive” coach and celebrate all the positive expressions of sexuality. My concerns are with what is in the individual’s best interests and leaving the world a better place. I’m certainly not against porn, though my last post on the subject sounded like it – I wrote that a little too hastily. A friend and mentor of mine, Destin Gerek, is in the process of creating some amazing heart-centered adult video that will be very entertaining and educational. (And by the way, if you’re interested in investing in this production, please contact him, as he’s looking for venture capital and this project will make those fortunate enough to invest some very nice money.) I also recommend educational video programs that are very “adult” themed and “pornographic” in nature. And in a positive circumstance, “traditional” porn can be an enhancement. I would also add, the business this reader is in is pretty cool… I’m a fan of sex toys and the businesses that promote and sell them, so I wish this reader well. With all that said, let’s get to [...]
